Flowers Galore!

Dursley is looking an absolute picture at the moment. December and January, in particular, are very very colourful - 100's of roses, and beautiful perennials everywhere. The main colour schemes change through the season as the some flowers peak, and others are just beginning. A perfect time to visit either during the week or on a weekend. Judith is happy to host groups as well. Tel 06 3724 804

Dursley Trilliums

This group of trilliums is thriving in a dry area under large trees. Not everyone has success with these, but they obviously love life at Dursley....

Tulips

What a difference a week makes! With this warm spring weather, many of the tulips have burst into flower, as you can see. Yet there are still hundreds of them that have not even raised a bud yet. So the season is looking to be long. The daffodils look amazing at the moment, too, with vast areas of them both inside the garden, and down in Dingly Dell - the paddock below the house. Perfect spot for a picnic, or to enjoy a Devonshire tea this weekend.......

White tulips amongst the roses

Just in this picture - hyacinths, daffodils, magnolia, grape hyacinth, and tulips.
Dingly Dell - the joke name that stuck!! A paddock below the house, full of daffodils and specimen trees. There is a lovely picnic spot you can walk to on a mown path. And doves.

Spring at Dursley Garden

Masses of Hellebores, and thousands and thousands of daffodils are in peak display this month at Dursley. Walking around the garden is a delightful experience at this time of year, with scented shrubs around every corner, and a different bulb staring to flower almost every day. The tulips are not far off bursting into colour. Do come out for a visit any time - Judith would love to see you.

Cyclamen at Dursley

It has been a terribly dry summer, but these stoic little cyclamen are looking better than ever. They form a carpet under many of the century old trees for several months.

Dursley Garden in January

The days have become VERY hot this month (28+ degrees celsius). At Dursley though, all the perennials are just loving the heat, with Lilies probably the most special feature through January.

Over summer Judith is busy making Devonshire teas on an almost daily basis, when people phone in advance to order them. Do ask, though, if you haven't pre-ordered, as she often has a batch of scones made already. There have been lots of visitors, but the garden is so expansive that it never feels like there is anyone else around. Lots of shady spots to sit quietly and enjoy the gorgeous garden and landscape. Judith would love to see you. The garden is open 7 days, year round. Contact phone: 06 3724804
